Frequently Asked Questions

How long does the milk last?

The milk usually lasts one week past the sell by date which is stamped on the outside lip of the cap.  It is good to keep your refrigerator temperature at 35 degrees to 40 degrees.  Some fridges are set at 45 degrees, and at that temperature your milk will not last as long.

Do I need to be home to receive my order?

Typically, you do not need to be home. In most cases, we deliver to coolers on your front porch. Due to liability issues, we prefer not enter a customer’s house and put our drivers in that situation. You will need to place a cooler with ice or ice packs outside if you are not going to be home. We recommend freezing some water bottles and place them in your cooler.

**IMPORTANT!** If you do not leave a cooler out, your driver will NOT leave your delivery unless you have made prior arrangements! This helps to ensure the milk doesn’t freeze and burst in the wintertime nor will it spoil in the summertime! **

If we make every effort to delivery and we cannot deliver, we will charge a flat fee of 10.00 for a missed delivery fee.

We deliver to homes throughout the day. Deliveries can occur as early as 7:00 AM and as late as 8:00 PM. The specific time depends on route and number of orders begin delivered that day. If you’re concerned about being available to receive your order, be sure to place a cooler with ice or ice packs outside for the driver to place your products.

Tell me more about the meat and other products that you sell.

THE BEEF: The cows are pastured raised and grass-fed on our farm in Strasburg, Va. We do not spray the fields with any pesticides but may use organic fertilizers from time to time. If we are unable to meet demand, we have a surplus of community members that can meet our needs.

THE PORK: The pigs are raised humanely utilizing traditional pig pens, with lots of space to roam. We are currently raising our own pigs. They are hampshires, the black pig with a white belt.

THE CHICKEN: The chickens are free-range, fed a diet of corn and soybeans, and are treated very well. Some come from PA and some from Edinburg, VA.

THE LAMBS: The lambs are raised on my parent’s farm, Fauble Suffolks. The farm is located on Middle Rd in Winchester, VA. They are pasture-raised and supplemented with grain when the pasture gets low. When I was a little girl, I showed sheep at our county and state fairs and won many awards, including a 4-year scholarship to VA Tech. I got the nickname “SHEEPGAL” and even had it on my license plate.
